Restaurant hold fees

A courier collecting food from a restaurant

We’re always on the lookout for ways to improve your delivery experience on the Just Eat Network. That’s exactly why we implemented restaurant hold fees for you, so you’re not the one who pays for delays.

Here’s how it works: if you arrive at a restaurant or store and are delayed (this depends on what zone you work in) because an order isn’t ready, then you’ll receive a restaurant hold fee. This isn’t always a fixed amount and can vary depending on a number of factors.

But, there are some dos and don’ts involved to receive a restaurant hold fee.

The dos ✅:

  • Swipe “parked at the restaurant” when you are at the restaurant’s designated order pick-up area.
  • Be informed by restaurant staff that the order is not ready for pick up.
  • Remain at the restaurant until the order is ready for pick up.

The don’ts ❌:

  • Swipe “parked at the restaurant” before arriving at the restaurant.
  • Leave the restaurant for any reason before collecting the order.
  • Collect the order but fail to update your status to “on the way” to the customer.

Stick to these, and you’re all set to receive your restaurant hold fee.

We know it can be a pain to wait around for orders, so we really appreciate your hard work and patience.
