Being a Just Eat courier throughout the month of Ramadan can be both rewarding and challenging. As Muslims worldwide observe this holy month, it may be difficult to navigate deliveries with increased fatigue, not to mention a higher appetite.
To help, we’ve put together some suggestions to make your life as a Just Eat courier that bit easier during Ramadan;
- Plan ahead: Make sure to plan your schedule accordingly to organise your runs around fasting hours. You may find day-time orders dip, while late night meals increase – you can adjust your availability ahead of time if you want to hit peak order times.
- Prep before your run: During pre-dawn (suhoor) and post-sunset (iftar) meals, keep hydrated and eat nutrient dense meals to sustain your energy levels for as long as possible.
- While on the road: If you’re delivering during non-fasting hours, try to still find time to drink water and open your fast. If you happen to be delivering over iftar, you can head to your local GDK for a free sunset snack.
- Take a breather: Try to rest during your run if you feel dehydrated or fatigued and plan routes that are more efficient to keep energy levels sustained.
- Staying safe: Your safety on the road is important, stay focused when driving in a car or on a bike – take breaks when needed if you feel like you are becoming less observant.
- Seek support: Keep your friends and family in the loop with how you’re feeling and don’t hesitate to reach out for support to help you throughout your runs this month.
