Muharram Mubarak

In July, a milestone for the Muslim community is the Islamic New Year or “Hir New Year” Based on the lunar Islamic calendar, this celebration marks the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina, an event called the Hijra.

While there may not be grand feasts akin to Eid, there’s an increased demand for traditional treats and specific halal ingredients as families come together for a modest meal.

It’s also a time of prayer and reflection for many, so if you’re delivering to a mosque or an area with a significant Muslim population, be prepared for busier streets around prayer times.

If you observe this time, we wish you Muharram Mubarak. Here’s to new beginnings.
