When delivering age-restricted items like alcohol or tobacco, verifying age isn’t optional, it’s required for every single order. These items are strictly regulated, and compliance isn’t just a legal necessity—it’s essential to protect our communities.
🚨You will be unable to deliver orders if the customer ID does not match the date of birth entry point.
How to verify the customer’s age
To ensure the customer is over 18, the Courier App will prompt you to enter their date of birth to complete an age-restricted order. To do this correctly, you must:
- Request the ID of the customer, and verify that the details on the ID and the order match
- Enter the date of birth from the ID into the date of birth entry point
- When the date of birth has been accepted as valid, click ‘Deliver order’ to complete the delivery
You will only have two chances to enter the date of birth correctly. If the date of birth from the ID does not match, the order cannot be delivered. You must contact support for further instructions if this happens.
Couriers that fail to meet their obligations when delivering alcohol may have their account access revoked.
