Power limits

Your e-bike’s motor must not exceed 250 watts—anything above this is considered a motorcycle and requires proper registration.

Battery power and speed limits

Battery-assisted power must cut off at 25 km/h. If your e-bike still provides assistance beyond this, it’s not road legal.

• A white light (flashing or steady) at the front
• A red light (flashing or steady) at the rear
• A red reflector at the back for extra visibility
