To help you get on the road and deliver with Just Eat, this article will guide you through the next crucial step: completing a background check via Access NI.
Below, you’ll find clear, step-by-step instructions on how to apply for an AccessNI Basic Check, ensuring a smooth path forward for your application.
How to Apply for an AccessNI Basic Check
Before you start, make sure you have these documents:
- National Insurance Number (if you have one)
- Driving Licence (if you have one)
- Passport (if you have one)
- Addresses where you have lived in the last 5 years (with the dates you lived there)
- Two forms of ID
1st Step: Log-in
- Go to the nidirect website here.
- Select ‘Apply for an AccessNI check’.
- Select ‘Apply online for a basic check through a responsible body’.
- Log in or create a new nidirect account (NIDA). If you already have an account, do not create a new one.
- After you log in, enter the 6-digit PIN: 418869.
- Check that the name “Samantha Vaughan” and the Umbrella Body “Sterling EMEA Ltd” are correct. If they are wrong, go back and re-enter the PIN.
Step 2: Fill in Your Details
- The system will now ask you to complete your details.
- Go through each screen, providing the information requested.
- Fields with a * are required. You must fill them in to continue.
- Some information from your nidirect account will be filled in automatically.
- If any of the pre-filled information is wrong, you need to update it in your NIDA account first.
- You must provide your full address history for the last 5 years. There should be no gaps in the dates.
- On the delivery page, the default option is a digital certificate. If you want a paper copy, you must select this option.
- You will need to upload identity documents.
Step 3: Upload your Docs
- To avoid delays, it is best to upload your birth certificate (or a document with your birth name and date of birth).
- You also need to upload a second document with your current name and a photo of yourself.
- Click the green “upload” button to upload your documents.
- Once you reach the Confirmation page, click to confirm.
Step 4: Application Confirmation
- A case reference number will be provided. Write this number down. You will need it for your background screening application and to ask questions.
- You will get an email confirming that your application has been sent to the umbrella body (Sterling EMEA Ltd) for approval.
- You can track your application’s progress using the link in the email.
