Welcome to our dedicated Just Eat Courier Personal Safety Week

We’re putting your well-being first.

This week, we’ll equip you with vital tips and resources for safe and secure deliveries, and we’ll be focusing on key areas to boost your safety. Have a peek into what we’ll cover;

🚗 Smart Parking Strategies

Courier Safety: Quick Parking Guide

  • Visible & Active: Park in well-lit, busy areas. Avoid dark alleys/secluded spots.
  • Minimize Stop Time: Plan routes, park close to delivery, reduce exposure.
  • Secure Your Ride: Use strong locks (U-locks, disc locks), alarms, remove valuables.
  • Trust Your Instincts: If a location feels unsafe, move immediately. Prioritize your safety.
  • Stay Connected & Aware: Keep phone charged, share location, know app safety features, scan surroundings.

    🤼 Avoiding Confrontation

Think ahead: Clear comms (ETAs, delays via chat) can prevent issues.

    If things get tense:

    • Stay calm. Your cool helps.
    • Listen actively. Let them speak.
    • Show empathy. Acknowledge their frustration.
    • Offer solutions (or direct to app support).

Stay safe: Know your surroundings, trust your gut, and disengage from abuse or threats. Your safety is #1! Just Eat support is in the app.

    🚲Bike & E-bike Security

Protect your ride & yourself! Thieves target bikes & e-bikes.

    Key steps:

    • Invest in STRONG locks: D-lock + chain are your best friends.
    • Secure components: Locking skewers & removeable lights help.
    • Consider an alarm: A loud deterrent to opportunistic thieves!
    • Stay aware: Scan your surroundings, avoid risky areas/times.
    • Lock ALWAYS: Even for a moment. Keep it in sight if possible.
    • Prioritize YOU: If threatened, leave and report!

    🔔How to Report an Incident

Your safety matters! If something happens, we encourage you to tell us.

    Emergency?

    • Injury (yours or others)?
    • Near miss (serious)?
    • Aggressive customer (threatening)?
    • Dangerous hazard? Report IMMEDIATELY via the Just Eat Courier App chat.  If it’s an emergency or a crime, CALL 999 FIRST! Then tell us via the app.

    Non-Urgent Concerns?

    • Use the non-live chat in the app to report non-emergency safety issues.

Key takeaway: Report incidents ASAP via the app chat. For emergencies, call 999 first.

We’re here to support your safety.
